Back to the grind

Oh how I hate returning to work after a long weekend. I was off for a whole 5 days, you would think I would be nice and refreshed and ready to come back to work and be productive. NOPE, instead I feel sleepy and have no drive to do any kind of work today. Thanksgiving was nice. Pretty uneventful. After dinner B and I took my son to the "Way of Lights" display. It was nice Ant liked it. Friday night I went out not too fun but still ok. Saturday and Sunday I did absolutely nothing. I did venture out and visit my friend Laurie Saturday night for a few hours. Feels like I haven't seen her in forever. Sunday was spent sleeping. I am so lazy lately.

What ARE these?

So I was sitting in the living room watching TV a few weeks ago and my son comes into the room with his arms up and an object in each hand. He is walking in asking "Mom, what are these?" I take a closer look and notice they are two nice red, white and blue CONDOMS!!! In the wrapper with the clear back so he can see the colorful contraption of course. He had apparently been in my sock drawer and found my "collection". I had absolutely NO idea what to say. I was caught off guard, so I just started with "You know you don't go in my stuff" and "What where you doing in my drawer?" He was trying to explain himself and quickly forgot the whole reason for the conversation in the first place. So I avoided that. I thought for a second to say balloons, but that would have been followed by "can I play with them" so I knew that wouldn't work. Boy, kids are too damn nosey! :-)

Ramblings.......

Nothing too exciting going on lately. The "boyfriend" type guy brought me roses to work yesterday. That was a nice surprise. Then after work he took me to get ice cream, yes even though it was like 40 degrees outside. Still tasty! I am so glad today is Friday!!! And I only have to work 2 days next week. It is going to be SO nice. I need a little vacation. No plans for the weekend so far. I am supossed to be staying in, meaning no club hopping, but we'll see how that works out. I told Gigi I would babysit baby Mya so she could get out for a little while so if I do that I will stay home, but if she changes her mind and I don't.....well, I have a feeling I will be going out. I just can't seem to sit my hot ass still, as "B" says anyway. It's just too much fun to go out, drink way too much, flirt with the boys, stay out way too late, and then wake up the next morning feeling like shit swearing you will "never drink again"! Sounds fun doesn't it? Yeah, it does. I can't wait. Well hope you all have a great weekend~ta ta!!

The crazy things mom's do......

Ok, my sister thinks my friend Chrissy and I are the most insane moms she has ever met. Chrissy's son Erik is 7, my son Anthony is 6 and they are the best of friends. They hang out often, because well basically they have no choice. It was sort of a forced friendship since Chrissy and I have been friends forever and hang out quite often, when we had kids they ended up being around each other all the time. Anyway, Chrissy and I both have an unusal sense of humor, to say the least. We are always doing something many would call "stupid", we call it hillarious!! So one day before the school year started Chrissy and Erik were driving home and Erik wanted to do a "play school", so Chrissy asked him ok, what do you want to do math, spelling, what? He said "No, I want you to go to my school, and pretend to drop me off and pick me up". So she drives to the school, stops, lets him out of the car, waits a few seconds, and he gets back in. They proceed to have a conversation about how his first day of school went. He loved it and laughed the whole way home. Well when the boys are in the car with me they often like me to put the car in "super speed". This is where I speed up the car slightly, then put it in neutral and press on the accelerator to make the "vroom, vroom" sound. I always tell them "ok, lean back" and then we take off in "super speed". They love it and what harm does it do, ok, except minor harm to my transmission. My sister thinks we are crazy! Which we may as well be, but at least these kids are going to have some interesting memories!

Circus night.....

We are off to the circus tonight.....that is about the highlight of my week. Life has not been very exciting lately! Nina and I did have dinner last night and it was nice to sit and chat so that was fun. I am stressing out over how fast Christmas is approaching and how I only have 2 paychecks before Christmas!!! I did go to Toys R Us and buy my son the Game Cube he has been wanting, I bought the "value bundle" which came with the game system, 2 controllers, and the new Harry Potter game, for $109, yeah what a value! So with the "buyer protection plan" just in case my son destroys the game, it came to about $130. For ONE gift! The older he gets the more expensive his Christmas gifts get. I am not looking forward to his teenage years. I did get a $10 gift card to use toward a future purchase at Toys R Us though, it was free with a $75 or more purchase so there ya go. But I'm happy I got him something I know he will be really excited to open. I still need to figure out what to buy my mom, dad, sister, brother, and brother in law though. My brother is 16 and just got his driver's lisence and a truck so I think I will get him a gas gift card, and maybe a shirt or something. I'm thinking gift cards for my sister and brother in law too.....I know easy way out, but I never know what to get them and I figure I would rather get a gift card to use for something I need rather than get something I don't need or want right? Yeah, it's supossed to be the thought that counts but come on, people really want something they can use right!! My parents are the hardest to buy for....I would really like to get them both remote starters for their cars but they are around $200 each so I don't know. Maybe my sister would like to go in on that with me....I'll have to ask her. Ok, enough rambling.....

What the HELL??!!!

Yea so I wrote about the Jamaican guy, Steven, I met a week or so ago blah blah blah. Well He has been calling my phone everyday for like a week, but I haven't answered any of his calls because I was hoping he would stop calling. I just wasn't really feeling him. Well today I'm sitting at work and my cell phone rings, I didn't recognize the number so I answer it and this is the conversation that took place:

Me: "Hello"
Caller: "Hello Crystal, this is Amy, Steven's girlfriend"
Me: (shocked and a little confused) "Steven who"
Caller: "Short black guy, he said your a friend of his from work"
Me: (still confused) "Ok" (then it hits me it's the Jamaican guy, duh)
Caller: "He said you guys were hanging out last night"
Me: "No, I wasn't with him last night."
Caller: "I'm sorry to bother you, I just feel like I'm being taken advantage of"
Me: "That's ok, but I wasn't with him"
Caller: "Ok, thanks"!
Me: "Bye"

Ok, so I was in shock so I didn't really know what to say. Now I want to call this girl back and say "yes your boyfriend is being an asshole." I met him at a club last weekend and he made out with me in the club? What? How can you tell someone that! But she sounded so sweet on the phone, I want to let her know what he is doing......AAAHHHHHHH, add this to the list of why men are JERKS!!!

Ode to Nina

Since it's Nina Pop's birthday today I thought I would talk about her! Nina and I have been best friends for a whole lotta years now. It didn't start out that way though. Believe it or not we didn't like each other when we first met! I know hard to believe anyone wouldn't like ME! But believe the old me was pretty hard to like most of the time. I was a very mean teenager! I have since changed my ways. So anyway, I met Nina when I was about 12 or 13 years old I guess. We met thru my cousin Amy. After we actually became friends we shared many, many memories. We were your regular rebellious teenagers. Wanting to party, and drink and all that bad stuff. I remember stealing Nina Pop's dad's van....we went and picked up all our friends and rode around. I think I was 14 and Nina probably 15, we let the oldest person we were with drive, I think he was 16 but he didn't have a license. We ended up getting chased by the police, we pulled a slick little move and pulled into a driveway, shut the van off and all got on the floor. When the police found the van, they just shine the lights in and then drove off. We got away with that one! We stole, well "borrowed" cars a few more times and fortunately never got busted or crashed. That is until Nina got her license and her dad bought her a nice blue Firebird! She had only driven it a few times, and one day we wanted to ride around. Her dad said ok, but stay in the subdivison. So what did we do? We drove across the highway to a different subdivison. All was good until on the way back we had to go across a 5 lane highway, Nina felt she could make it, I kept yelling "Your not going to make it", then BAM!!! Hit by a van! Not fun. No one was hurt so that was good. There were so many good times, I can't possible go into all of them here. But thru everything we have remained the best of friends, I even gave her the nickname....although it started as just Nina to my son who couldn't say Stephanie when he was little so she was his Nina, then the song, Nina Pop came out a few years back and the pop just kindof got added on there, my son is 6 now and still calls her his Nina and the rest of us call her Nina pop! I love you dearly Nina, I hope you have a Happy 28th Birthday!!!! And don't cry too much about being just 2 years shy of the big 30 now!!! Ha ha!! Dont worry I coming right up behind ya!!
